I got into making cards a couple of years ago and now that is the majority of what I do. About a year and half ago
Cricut came out with a Wild Card cartridge that has everything you need to make 50 cards. It's great for first time card makers or for people who have been card making for years. Each card has an envelope, an
envelope liner, card and some sort of card liner, as well as frames, phrases and icons. It's so much fun and easy to use. When I first got the cartridge I remember looking through the booklet that comes with it and asking myself "what is that?" "what do I do with that" and "how the heck am I supposed to fold that?". Now that I've had the cartridge for awhile I've made most of the cards on there so I thought I would share some of them. As I post them some will be fancier than others. There are some cards on there that I won't use very often so I probably won't go into as much detail with those. There are cards for nearly every
occasion you could think of. Today I made the
band aid card which at first I
didn't really like but once I got it together it looks really cute.
Here is a picture from the cricut book that goes with the Wild Card cartridge. I cut out the card and envelope, the liners for both, as well as the doctors bag (which I ended up not using), the phrase "Get Better" and the stethoscope.
Here's a picture of everything all cut out. I cut the card out twice because the patterned paper that I wanted for the band aid was not thick enough for the card. I cut the card out of green cardstock and the patterned paper and then just trimmed the patterned paper to fit the front of the card. I had a little trouble putting the liner into the envelope because it kept moving when I would open and close the envelope. If you're making an envelope with a liner make sure to use a lot of adhesive so the liner won't move when you open/close the envelope.
Here's the finished product. I adhered the "Get Better" phrase and the stethoscope to the inside of the card. I'm hoping to do a Wild Card post at least once a week. It may end up being less though depending on what else is going on and how many projects I'm working on at the time.
Enjoy!
