For You

Let's try this again. I got the entire post typed and then clicked to add an image and all my Internet Explorer windows closed. I did a test cut last night of the triangle background found in the Wild Card book. I wasn't sure about the cut or what to use it for so I cut it using Georgia Pacific cardstock from Walmart. This stuff is great for crafting. It's acid free and SO cheap. You can get a whole package for something like $6 (I might be a little off on the price, it's still cheap whatever the price is) Anyways, once I got it cut I really liked it and ended up making a card using it. I paired it with blue and brown which is a color combo I really like. The strip and oval on the front are also cut from Wild Card, I think it's the page with the little gift boxes on it. The sentiment also comes from Wild Card but I have no idea what page. I like to take different cuts and mix it up for different cards. The inside just says Happy Birthday.

Kindergarten Scrapbook Page

Well my plans of getting a lot of crafting done have not been going so well. For some reason I have been having such a hard time to find 12x12 cricut mats. Nobody has them and believe me I have checked everywhere. Two Walmarts, a Joanns, and a Michaels later I finally found some 12x24 mats. Not what I wanted but it beats having to wait a week to have some shipped to me. I was able to get a scrapbook page done though without a mat. I love the stickers and the little t-shirt on this page. The shirt says "What happens in Kindergarten stays in Kindergarten". I have a whole list of naughty kindergartners in the back of mind that this page would be so appropriate for. I'll be selling it this year at a craft unless someone snags it up before that. I don't know where I got the stickers. I think it was at a local scrapbook store that has since closed. We seem to have that problem here in Maine, a store opens and is only around for a year or so before it closes. The few that were around for a long time have since closed. The stickers and the shirt both came from the same place. In fact the locker paper may have come from there too. I've been trying to use up some of the things in my stash and this is one of the projects. It's not often that I make something and not use the cricut at all but this page was done completely without the cricut.

February Calendar

I didn't much crafting done this weekend :( that's okay though because my plan is to get lots done over the next two weeks. Especially the week of Feb. vacation. Since I'm lucky enough to work in a school I get the added bonus of a week off in Feb. I used this weekend to get all the major house work done like cleaning the oven and fridge and shampooing the rugs so that I can use most of Feb. break for crafting. Really looking forward to that. I don't have anything new to post today but I do have the pictures for the February layout on my calendar. I think the picture for the top portion still needs something but I can't decide what so I'm leaving it as it is for now. Here are the pictures. Make sure to check back often over the next couple weeks, hopefully there will be lots of new things to post.

You Rock Valentine

I'm finally starting to feel better after battling the flu for the last few days. For today's card I made a Valentines Day one. It's my first this year and I figured I better get going since the big day is less than two weeks away. I found the black and silver paper a few months ago at AC Moore and have been saving it to make Valentines cards. It's actually a Harley Davidson paper I just cut out the corner with the logo and won't use that on any cards. The rest of the paper is just colored card stock from my stash. The ribbons were spools that I got at Walmart, no idea what brand, but they were like 99 cents each and there is a lot on each spool. The letters for "You Rock" were cut using Wild Card and the guitar came front the Everyday Paper Dolls cart. I just love the paper dolls cartridges, there are so many cuts on them that you can find one for just about any project. I pop dotted the guitar as well as the square with the words to make them stand out. I fought with the ribbon for a good five minutes before getting it right. For some reason I could not wrap my brain around the way the ribbons needed to lay. Inside I stamped "Happy Valentines Day" and put another piece of ribbon with a smaller guitar. Have a great rest of the day and thanks for looking.

Caardvark Challenge

I came across this blog today and I have to say that I really like the name of it. They're having a challenge right now to make a card using hearts and red. I made one yesterday that fits the criteria so I decided to post. I've already posted it here on my blog but to make it easier to find and since it is listed with several other projects I'm posting it again.

My Pink Stamper Challenge 2

Robin at mypinkstamper.com posted a second challenge today. Today's ch allege was to make something that was warm and springy. I made a butterfly card using designers calendar and some card stock. I made a white 6x6 side fold card and added a 5 1/2x5 1/2 piece of green and a 5x5 piece of white. The pieces or the butterfly were cut using the heart cut on designers calendar. I folded the top set of wings and adhered buttons down on top of them. The inside says "Happy Birthday". The antennae and the swoop behind the butterfly were done using stickles.

Weekend Crafts

With the weekend here I have more time to craft, which I love. After completing a card for the challenge yesterday over at My Pink Stamper I made a second card with some of the paper that was left over.

I also made a beach layout using Everyday Paper Dolls and some DCWV paper.
The last thing I made today was set of cards. My Pink Stamper has another challenge today, to make something warm or springy. I made this butterfly card in red and decided that it looked too much like a Valentines Day Card. I ended up making it in another color for the challenge but here it is in red.
